Highly motivated, creative and hardworking students, targeting PhD, preferably having some background in Bioinformatics can send Dr. Hoque resume (not web link) with all scores and publications (if any) at thoque@uno.edu. However, the student intake is based on availability of funds.
International students need to get ready and apply by Jan/Feb with their GRE and TOEFL/IELTS scores for admission to catch Fall Semester (starts in August) and to apply for UNO scholarship tuition waiver.
Research Area – Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence
We are working in the protein structure prediction (PSP), focusing
- disorder protein prediction
- development of sampling algorithms
- energy function
- fold-recognition
- binding-region prediction
Other recently developed project: Optimized Metabolic Network based Biofuel Production in Algae (PhD position is available now!).
